Effect of Nanoparticles and Their Anisometry on Adhesion and Strength in Hybrid Carbon-Fiber-Reinforced Epoxy Nanocomposites

Carbon-fiber-reinforced plastics are composite materials with record-high specific strength, which depends on the efficiency of stress redistribution between reinforcing fibers by polymer matrix. The problem is accurate assessment adhesion in carbon fiber–polymer matrix system since it affects overall strength composite. This paper provides a novel electrochemical method for determining estimating critical length that protrude above fracture surface fiber-reinforced using their electrical conductivity and insulating properties has been successfully applied to evaluate having an epoxy filled nanoparticles different anisometry: nanotubes, organomodified montmorillonite, or detonation nanodiamonds. In addition measurements, effect viscosity binder, its impregnation fibers, curing, glass transition, tensile composites was estimated. Nanodiamonds at mass fraction 0.1% proved be most effective improving quality plastics, increasing fiber–matrix 2.5 times, 17%, not decreasing transition temperature.
